1st Lt. Norman L Kentner was born Jan 1921 in Elkhart, IN and died April 2003 in Houston TX. He was drafted into the US Army in 1942 where he first was trained in the Signal Corps before transferring to Aerial Navigation school at Ellington AFB in Houston, TX. He completed his training in Tampa FL before shipping out to join the unit in 1944. He served as Navigator until the end of the war on B-17s. He had to bail out of one bird and had two confirmed "kills".
