1st Lieutenant Frank H. Mullen flew 48 missions as a bombardier for the 32nd Bomb Squadron, while on his 48th mission on February 25th, 1944 while bombing Regensburg Germany he was shot down and taken prisoner by the Germans and spent the next 14 1/2 months as a P.O.W. in Stalag Luft 1
