My plane traveled from Dallas through Frankfurt, Germany  to Graz, Austria In Graz,  the Rathaus/Hauptplatz ( Town Hall in the Main Square ) Walking on Herrengasse toward Schlossbergplatz Entrance to the Schlossberg Tunnel System - During the war, a system of tunnels under the Schlossberg served as an air raid shelter for up to 40,000 people Beautiful facade of a church near the city center Beautiful facade of a building across from where bicycles are parked by visitors and employees in the city center The splendid crowned double headed eagle over the entrance to this building The Schlossbergbahn ( funicular railway ) takes you up the 61% grade to the top of The Schlossberg The Schlossbergbahn car ( funicular railway ) passes the car coming down from the top of The Schlossberg The view from the Schlossberg of Graz The view from the Schlossberg of Graz The view from the Schlossberg of Graz The view from the Schlossberg of the city center in Graz Part of the scenic walk down from the top of the Schlossberg On top of the Schlossberg is the Bell Tower Beautiful statue on the walk down the mountain The Clock Tower was erected around 1560 and has struck the hour precisely since 1712 The older part of the city is marked by the red tile roofs in the city center Another  view from the Schlossberg of Graz and the walk down to the city The older part of the city is marked by the red tile roofs in the city center A look back up at the Clock Tower as you walk down through the beautiful parks The way down to the old town ( Felsensteig ) from the top of the Schlossberg. There are 260 steps down which gets you to Karmeliterplatz Square This is the Edegger-Tax Bakery with the splendid wooden shop facade. It's been in business since 1569 The
