Edgar Shallcross
 EDGAR M. SHALLCROSS, JR., 86, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Bellaire, OH, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in the OVMC, Wheeling.
He was born December 30, 1922 in Bellaire, OH, a son of the late Edgar, Sr., and Lois Fitch Shallcross.
Edgar was retired general manager for the former Alling and Cory Co., was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bellaire, the American Legion Post # 52, DAV Post #117, former councilman for the City of Bellaire, the American Ex-Prisoner of War Barbed Wire Chapter #1 and was an Army Air Corp. Veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Heil Shallcross on September 15, 1986, a brother Louis Shallcross, a sister Lucille Shallcross and a grandson, Brian Stephen Shallcross.
Surviving is his wife, Sue Culbertson Shallcross, 3 sons; William Shallcross and his wife Rebecca, Stephen Shallcross and his wife Denise, all of Bellaire, Jeffrey Shallcross of Lansing, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441-37th St., Bellaire, OH, where services will be held on Friday, September 11, at 1:00pm with Rev. Donald Lawson, Jr., officiating.
Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery, Bellaire.
The American Legion Post #52 will conduct military services at 7:00pm Thursday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Bellaire.
