Obituary: Funeral services for Felton Patrick Pullin of Cordele, Georgia was held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The committal service followed in Sunnyside Cemetery. Mr. Pullin, 95, passed away Tuesday at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Pullin.
He was born in Morgan County and was the son of the late Troy Lathen and Clyde Patrick Pullin. Mr. Pullin was a veteran of the United States Army-Air Force and served as a tail gunner during World War II. He flew 50 missions in service of his country and received numerous medals. He was a retired Civil Service employee and a member of Third Street Baptist Church.
Mr. Pullin is survived by four sons and their wives, Troy and Bonnie Pullin and William C. "Dub" and Mary Gilliam, all of Cordele, Phil and Linda Gilliam of Macon, and James and Mary Gilliam of Cordele; two sisters, Royce Bennett and her husband, Ronnie, and Edna Hulsey, of Cordele; 14 grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffany and Michael Harris, Rachel and Ryan Hancock, Brittany Pullin, Katie Pullin, Gay and Del Braziel, Jimbo Gilliam, Tammy and Joey Saxon, Cathy and Keith Strickland, Bill and Patricia Gilliam, Phil and Lisa Gilliam, Matt and Diane Gilliam, David Gilliam, Michelle and Bruce Mathis and Ken and Jennifer Gilliam; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, David Gilliam and siblings, Arthur Pullin, Hubert Pullin and Allene Gilliam.
S/Sgt. Felton Patrick Pullin was assigned to the 301st BG 353rd Squadron.
