Arthur Moran
I had the pleasure of meeting Major Art Moran (ret) last year. We corresponded both before and after our meeting. He was a crew mate of my father, Gus Spohn, and bailed out behind enemy lines with my father and the rest of the crew (MACR: 10108). He was captured and spent time in Stalag Luft I (2 were captured and 8 evaded capture and returned to base). He was only 19 years old when he served as the navigator and in my mind was a true American hero. He recently passed away, but I will remember him for his heroism in WWII and his kindness to me as I searched for information about my father's crew.
MACR: 10108
2nd Lt Arthur R Moran was assigned to the 301st BG 353rd Squadron. Military Occupational Specialty (MOS): Navigator.
